Studio Assistant
Location: Glenview, IL
Reports to: Principal Designer/ Owner
Full-Time, Salaried Position
JOB DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a proactive and highly organized Studio Assistant to join our growing team. This is an ideal role for someone who thrives in a creative environment, takes initiative, and enjoys supporting both the team and the studio's day-to-day operations. Interior Designer
Location: Chicago Area
Reports to: Principal Designer/ Owner

KEY DUTIES Provide overall support to client projects with floor plans, selections, drawings, and design tasks. DUTIES MAY INCLUDE: - Assist in planning and interpreting projects through all phases of development including initial client meeting, floor planning, design development, construction and documents, project management - Coordinate and schedule all client meetings and communicate with clients, vendors, contractors, architects, and other members of the project team as directed by the Principal Designer - Create and maintain documentation for all projects, including selection sheets, AutoCAD plans, and schedules - Research products and source furnishings, lighting, accessories, fixtures, finishes, material options, and reselections, as instructed by Principal Designer - Render design ideas in form of boards, drawings, or illustrations, estimates, material requirements, and costs, and present designs to Principal Designer for approval - Assist in coordinating the day-to-day needs of the project through other design staff assigned to the project - Create product pricing in product management system - Prepping documentation for the purchasing process - Complete weekly status reports for clients in collaboration with purchasing coordinator as well as provide other updates including meeting notes and site visits - Assist with preparation for installations and photoshoots - Assist on photoshoot day - Assist on install day - Collaborate with vendors and contractors to manage punch list as needed QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: - Solid knowledge of the design industry - 2-4 year degree in Interior Design - 2-4 years working in a design firm - Proficiency in communicating professionally with clients, contractors, and vendors - Strong project management skills - Ability to juggle many projects at once all at various stages of the design process - Professional, reliable, and punctual - Able to work late as needed and have personal stability - Detail-oriented and able to operate effectively in a team environment as well as independently with minimal direction and supervision - Excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities - Able to work efficiently and effectively under deadlines - Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle - Proficient in the following design specific software Sketch Up, Auto Cad, Canva, Google Drive BENEFITS: - Work one on one with growing design firm - Wide variety of projects and hands-on job training - Opportunity for a permanent position within the company - Trade discount for items ordered through IJD - Trip to Market (when applicable) ADDITIONAL: - Travel: some travel may be required for local projects - Location: 1 day Remote/2111 Chestnut Ave. Glenview, Il 60025 - Hours: 35-40/week - Rate: Hourly - Job Type: Full-time - Classification: W2 HOW TO APPLY: To apply, please send your resume and examples of your work to jen@interiorsbyjendavidson.com and include the job title "Interior Designer" in the subject line.
